Otsuka Ai (大塚愛)

official website: http://www.avexnet.or.jp/ai/

Although her first single "Momo no Hanabira" (桃ノ花ビラ) was released in September of 2003, it wasn't until her 2nd single Sakuranbo (さくらんぼ) that she became a sensation. As of 2006, she has released a total of 3 albums as well as numerous singles. She also starred in in the drama "Tokyo Friends."

At the moment of this writing, she is one of my favorite artists; mainly due to a unique combination of her lyrics, song composition, and personality. My personal favorites among her compositions are Haneari Tamago (羽ありたまご), Amaenbo (甘えんぼ) and Friends (フレンズ).

Brief Comments:
A softer song with poetic lyrics. Initially, I never payed much attention to it. Later, I happened to watch the PV and like a puzzle, things just clicked together and I found myself growing fond of it.

Translation Notes:
With this translation I think that the title of the song "Bubble" really fits well into the lyrics. The way she's describing her memories of the past, the world was almost perfect back then. As if they were living in a sort of bubble/dream. The feelings they felt of that time were so intense and real that they threatened to burst that perfect world. So, without confessing everything the world just passed them by and the old versions of themselves disappeared.
