This song is a little confusing if you're not sure what the basis for it is.

Watching the music video for "Poketto", it gives you a basic idea of the feelings and meanings behind the word choices made. In it, a red thread is emphasized; one which runs from Ai's ring finger off into the distance. She is standing in the falling snow by herself and waiting for a particular train to arrive. While she waits, she is reminiscing about her love and the connection to her soulmate.

A red thread is often thought to connect a person to their soulmate and understanding this metaphor sheds light on the meaning of the lyrics. Especially on the first stanza in which she talks about a "hidden secret of hands which connects the two of us."

One might say that from the lyrics, she has already met her soulmate in this song. It's very much a love ballad sort of song but one with deeper connotations.
