What camera did you use to take your photos?
Most of my older pics are taken with a Canon Elph S110. It was a good camera at the time but as it got older, the white balance problems became more obvious and the colors seemed more faded as well as an overall lighter picture. Within the last year, I picked up a Nikon D100 digital SLR camera and started using that. Truth be told, I had been eyeing a digital slr for years before but the price was just too tremendously high. Finally when the price had dropped down to saner levels did I buy one. I've liked its abilities so far and am very pleased. Unfortunately, I don't use it as often as I should or would really like to but the discipline of having a camera on one's person is well....not my thing really.

Recently, I've acquired a Canon S400 due to its small size and image quality. This is more of a travel camera as I can carry it around on an everyday basis.

What program(s) do you use to create your wallpapers?
For the most part, my wallpapers are created using solely Photoshop. My current version at the time of this writing is Photoshop CS2. Using Illustrator CS2, I do illustrations for various corporations and entities ranging from logos to product packaging. However, to date, none of my illustrations are used or posted on this site. This might change in the future as I've recently accepted a full-time position in the IT field working for a big corporation and won't feel burnt out from illustrating full time.

What powers your site? Would you lend me the code so I could use it?
No, this site does not use Blogger, Movable Type or any other sort of blog-type code. I am happy to say that everything here (save for the images by which my wallpapers have used as well as screenshots of various series/movies and that which I have explicitly given credit for) was made/coded by me.

In the distant past, I had used free commercial code such as Advanced Guestbook to power certain areas of the site. I have since turned away from that and have decided that I would code everything myself.

There are various reasons for this, but the main one being that I am a person who likes to do things myself. The flexibility in being able to implement whatever features you want into your site at whim just appeals to me; even if it means a lot of work. I don't like having something that everyone else has.

As for requests regarding use of my code, I'm flattered. Unfortunately, due to circumstance, I really prefer not to. I have barely enough time to do the things I want with this site.

How long have you been coding/designing web pages?
I've been familiar with the HTML language since as far as I can remember. I designed web pages using Macromedia Dreamweaver back in 1998. It was elementary stuff back then, nothing sophisticated or extravagant looking. We all have to start somewhere right? In June 2002, I sat down and learned some PHP and mySQL and vllasko.com became dynamic content based. In September 2002, I sat down and penned out a nice design for vllasko.com. Since that time, I've learned Photoshop and Illustrator. For a the past few years, I've had a unique job that allowed me to design/develop client web sites, administer various server systems(Windows, *NIX infrastructures) and build network infrastructures.

What do you do currently?
I am currently employed at a large corporation. I don't care to elaborate more than that at the moment as I'm not one of those to give out really personal information on the Internet. Although I do really like creative aspects like design and illustration, my true passion is building computer networks and systems administration and implementation. It's funny because my university degree is Computer Science in Engineering. Don't get me wrong, software programming is quite fun but it's just not something I really want to do with my life.

Do you have any other sites? If so, where?
I do, in fact, have other sites that I work on. For the most part though, they are registered and operated under my alias. Hopefully you'll happen upon them though. On the bright side, this site is one that sees regular updates.

Is there a reason why you have such varied content?
Keep in mind, this is a personal domain. I don't find myself particularly bound to putting out content and images that continue to move my domain in a certain direction. That is why you'll find a unique synthesis of radically different topics and content ranging from computer hardware to anime reviews to essays to wallpapers and art. My site caters to a wide variety of people, ranging from my close friends in real life to random visitors who are drawn here by search engines.

What are you working on now?
Current and somewhat tentative projects for the future are the design and rollout of VllaskoCom version 8 as well as completing the cleanup of CSS. After that, the "pictures" section will come back online. I also have plans to implement a ZONE memorial site using a codebase of Ruby on Rails.

Hope you enjoy the site and thanks for visiting!
